Student Responsibilities
Dress Code:
Student Code of Conduct:
All behavior deemed inappropriate will be documented.
- No ripped or torn jeans.
- No spaghetti straps or tank tops. All shirts must have sleeves.
- No revealing tops for girls. Mid-drifts and backs must be covered.
- No mini-skirts. All skirts must be knee length or longer.
- Shorts must be long enough to reach the tip of your fingers if your hands are at your side. (Or longer)
- No clothing with offensive pictures or slogans.
- No shoes with wheels. No skateboards.
- No hats worn inside the building.
- NWHE Coop Coordinator reserves the right to modify the dress code or make final determination on what is appropriate dress.
Student Code of Conduct:
- Be prepared and ready to learn. Complete all assignments.
- Inform teacher and coop coordinator if you will be late, absent or leave early.
- Treat all students, teachers & parents with respect.
- Bullying and taunting will not be tolerated.
- Arrive to class on time. 3 tardies will result in a write up.
- No talking or loitering in the halls while classes are in session.
- Students must quietly wait outside the classroom doorway 5 minutes before class begins.
- Students do not enter the classroom until your teacher invites you in.
- Students must wait in Study Hall in between classes.
- Food and drink can only be consumed in designated area unless your class is given special permission.
- No food or drinks allowed in library.
- Only church members can check out books from library.
- Books in library may be read in the library but must be returned to bookshelf when done. Educational board games can be played in library.
- Students are not permitted outside (back, front or playground) without a teacher or parent.
- Students must enter and leave the building using the designated door only.
- Students must sign in when arriving, and sign out when picked up.
- Parent or student visitors only allowed in classroom if given permission by teacher. No one under 10 allowed to visit classrooms.
- Cell phone must be turned off or on vibrate at all times during coop. Accepting calls or text messages during class is not permitted. In the event of an emergency please contact Kristeen Garza at 889-3732 or Drexel McAfee 633-4406.
- Other electronic equipment such as computers, ipods and other devices are not permitted unless used for class.
- Be good stewards of the facilities and parking lot by leaving each in a better condition than it was found. (Put the chairs back where they belong, trash in trashcans, etc.) Each person needs to take a personal interest and responsibility for keeping the facility clean.
- Dress code must be followed at all times.
- Students should be picked up at least 15 minutes after their last class ends or no later than 3:15 pm. (Which ever comes first.)
- Students in study hall must keep their voices down and not be disruptive.
- No public displays of affection.
- Dropping classes is not acceptable however, if you must drop class you must inform the teacher and coop coordinator in WRITING ASAP.
- Students are required to assist with cleanup at end of day.

- Written warning and conference with student.
- Conference with parent.
- Possible removal from coop determined by coop coordinator and NWHE steering committee.
- Extreme violations will result in an immediate call to parents to discuss proper action.
- First month’s tuition and supply fee due September 7th and is paid to teacher.
- Tuition is due the first Wednesday of each month.
- All tuition is paid directly to each teacher.
Teacher Responsibilities
- All teachers must arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class time. If running late please call Kristeen ASAP. (889-3732)
- Teachers will conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Dress code: Professional or jeans and a nice shirt or blouse. No ripped or torn jeans or flip flops. Sandals and athletic shoes are permitted.
- Please notify Kristeen and Drexel of all communications to parents. By sending cc: email to nwhecoop@gmail.com.
- Schedule changes are NOT permitted.
- Dismiss students 5 minutes prior to the end of your scheduled class so they can go to their next class.
- Have students clean up after themselves after each class.
- Provide parents with an email or paper that has your contact information.

- If you can’t make a class please either find a substitute or inform parents you are canceling class ASAP. (We can not make up classes.) (Keep in mind if you cancel class for personal reasons, parents might ask for a refund for that day.)
- Keep attendance and turn it in to Kristeen at the end of month.
- Keep track of tuition paid or owed to you. If someone pays cash you must give them a receipt.
- Provide your own teaching supplies. (Dry erase markers, pencils, pens, paper, etc.)
- Provide each student with a certificate at the end of the school year to show they completed the class.
- Familiarize and enforce the coop student rules.
- Attend teacher meetings or parent/student meetings when possible.
- Communicate with coop coordinator as needed. Check email regularly for important info.
- Document any student behavioral infractions and submit to coop coordinators immediately.
Co-op Coordinator Responsibilites
- Provide teachers with a clean and safe classroom.
- Organize registration.
- Assist and support teachers as needed.
- Communicate with teachers as needed.
- Remind parents when tuition is due.
- Enforce student rules.
- Assist with discipline concerns.
- Inform teachers and parents if coop is canceled due to severe weather.
- Clean and organize classroom at the end of each coop.
- Monitor all students while at coop during, after, and between classes.
- Organize mid or end of year celebrations or events. (Christmas Party 12/15, &
